New Projects

Need Ideas???

Do you sometimes look at a stamp set and have this big blank spot in your brain about what to do with it?  I get those blank spots occasionally, and when I do, I head on over to Pinterest, as you can get so much inspiration from what all the other clever people in this world think up.  Usually I will find a card that I think is great and want to CASE (copy and share everything) it.
I will start to assemble my supplies just to find that I don't have the same Designer Paper, or the right ribbon, or embellishments or whatever.  That is when you start to turn the card into your own, changing the paper, or the color scheme, or using twine instead of ribbon, or thinking that it might benefit from some glitter (doesn't everything?)
And what do you end up with?  A unique card that may have some resemblance to the one on Pinterest, maybe the same layout or colors, and maybe the same stamp set that you set out to use in the first place.  But now it is your card, with your choices of color, paper, embellishments!   It's like MAGIC!
This is a card like that.  I started with the Oh Snap Stamp Set, and wanted some ideas.  So searched on Pinterest for Stampin Up Oh Snap and found a bunch of ideas.  Then I saw a card by Marie Besecker. and decided I like it, and had most of the stuff.
Turns out I did not have the die that she cut her Blue Oh So Ombre paper with, so to make it more interesting, I added a thin margin of Rococo between the Mango Melody card base and the Blue.  My Bird is from the Mango Melody also, she used a different paper, and I stamped the little wave stamp on the background also.  This is what I ended up with.  I like it, everything is actually fussy cut, as there are no dies that go with this set.  And no glitter was added....
I took her layout, and the idea to use the Oh So Ombre paper, and then added my own little tweaks.  So thanks to Marcie for making the original, as it really is cute!

Today's Card

Darling Donkeys

Keeping in touch with your friends and family is especially difficult when you can't get together.  What better way to let someone know you are thinking of them than to send a card.  Wouldn't you love to be surprised like that when you go to your mailbox?
This card is simple, and was made with two of the FREE Sale-a-bration products that you can receive when you make a qualified purchase: Darling Donkeys stamp set and Field and Flowers Designer Series Paper.  Just add some cardstock and a little trim, and you are done!  Alternative is for Birthday, just block the rose with a small post-it when you ink your stamp, add a balloon, and draw in the string.

Quick And Easy Card

This simple but impressive card is made using the Dragonfly Garden Bundle (stamp set and punch) from the Jan-June Mini catalog, cardstock of your color choice (I used Rococo Rose, Basic Black, and Basic White), the FREE (Sale-a-bration) Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper, and some ribbon of your choice.   I used one of my favorites, the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.  The Ombre paper coordinates with Bermuda May, Blackberry Bliss, Granny Apple Green, and Rococo Rose (48 sheets, 6"x6"), and can be yours for FREE with a $50 purchase.  It actually takes longer to tie a perfect bow than to assemble this whole card!
