Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everyone!  Let's start 2022 off with happy thoughts and hopes for a greatly improved year for all of us.  My very favorite thing about working with Stampin' Up is that I can make a difference in the lives (at least for a few minutes at a time) of my friends and family, or even a random stranger.  What is better than going to your mailbox and finding an envelope with your name handwritten on it, with a return address from someone you know?  Or, during a long day of working in a restaurant or grocery store or doctor's office, someone hands you an envelope with a happy Thank You card inside And when you open it, there are happy thoughts just jumping out at you, for your birthday or anniversary or just because someone was thinking about you?!  This can make a change in someone's day, feeling, attitude or mindset.  Let's all resolve to make a difference in the lives of our friends and family this year by "making a card, sending a card"!

Sparkle of the Season for Fall

This beautiful fall wreath is very eye-catching on the worn white wall!

So quick and easy using the Sparkle of the Season stamps and Seasonal Swirls dies (bundle 156765)

I used white cardstock for the wreath die cut, and colored with the Blending Brushes (153611) in Just Jade for the wreath, and different fall colors for the leaves.  Brick and Mortar embossing folder (149643) was lightly brushed with Soft Suede to give it a worn look. Add a little bow of Bakers Twine (155475), a tag and a couple of pumpkins and you are done!

Pretty Pumpkins are everywhere!

Cutest Halloween!

Isn't this just the cutest little treat box for Halloween?!?!

The Tombstone Treat Boxes come with 8 boxes, just fold and stick together with the adhesive strips that are ALREADY ON the boxes.  Then you can decorate however you like.  I used the Cutest Halloween Bundle that has both the adorable stamp set and the Halloween Punch, which punches out all three images - the ghost, the cat and the pumpkin.  The treat boxes do not have a window in them, I cut that out with the Tailor Made Tags die set and added a piece of Window Sheet so that you will get a peek at the goodies that are inside (I just put a piece of the Cute Halloween Designer Series 6x6 paper for now because I haven't bought Halloween candy yet!.  Oh, and you have to have a little of the Black Glittered Ribbon.Best thing about all this is that if you purchase the Cutest Halloween Bundle, the Tombstone Treat Boxes and the Cute Halloween DSP you will be able to choose one of the wonderful FREE Sale-a-bration items.  If you were to go crazy and add the Tailor Made Tags Dies, the Black Glittered Ribbon and the embossing powder (set of 3-black, clear and white, I embossed their little faces and the sentiments) you would earn 2 FREE SAB Items of your choice!

Hats Off to the Guys (& Gals) in your life!

    I absolutely love making cards and sending them to everyone I know - for celebrations or just because I am thinking of them.  I send anywhere from 15-30 cards a month, so, I am constantly needing to replenish my stock of ready-to-go cards.  My main stock of cards are Birthday Cards and Thinking of You cards.  The Thinking of you ones are great, because they can be used for a lot of different occasions, and you can make them from virtually any stamp set.      Last month I had a lot of anniversaries happening, and had to make some special cards for those, since I like to personalize those a little more for the couple that I am sending the card to.

    But the ones I never seem to have enough of, and have a more difficult time being creative when I sit down to my craft table, are the Guy cards. Again, many times I want to personalize with the particular guy in mind, what does he like, what is he into (sports, hobbies, etc.)? Is he an indoor guy or an outdoorsy type?  But the one constant is that I want them to know I am thinking of him for whatever the occasion is.  So the new set Hats Off, in the Annual Catalog, is perfect for any type of guy, as long as at some point in his life he wears hat!  The hat in this set can be personalized for color, favorite team, sport, adventure, for any of your special people, so many possibilities!  Here are a couple I made today.

These 2 cards are pretty simple, I used the Bark 3D Embossing Folder to create the texture, and the Tailored Tag Punch for the bottom layer of the tag.

Flowers of Friendship

      I have been playing with the Flowers of Friendship Bundle  155590 (stamp set and punch) just to see what I can do with it, and have created these 3 cards, all using the same set, and different Designer Series Paper (DSP) to get completely different "looks and feels" to them.  

    The card on the left is made with the 6x6 2021-2023 In Color Designer Series Paper 155641, using one of the Fresh Freesia choices.  The middle card uses the Pansy Petals 12x12 DSP 155807, and the card on the right uses the Hand Penned DSP.  All stamps are from the Flowers of Friendship set except the Happy Birthday sentiment, which is from the Pansy Patch set. 155499, also sold as the Pansy Patch Bundle bundle with the Pansy Dies, or the complete Pansy Petals Suite 155810 which include the Bundle, the DSP and the little Bumblebee Trinkets. These are all shown on page 28-29 of the Annual catalog.
    All the flowers were colored with the Stampin' Blend Markers, all colors shown on pages122-123 of the Annual Catalog.


    Then, just for more fun, I made a couple of gift boxes using the great Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes 153069.  These boxes are so easy to decorate, and are great for all kinds of gifts and treats (they are food-safe).  They measure 5-7/8" x3-3/4" x 1", and come with 10 boxes. You can decorate just the top, like I did, or try other ideas, like the one on page 137 of the Annual Catalog.
